The school system is broken for the AI world and parents need to stop defending it

Hey parents,

We’re done staying quiet.

Most of us are exhausted from a school system that’s stuck in the past. You still push us to memorize facts, dates, formulas, and textbooks — stuff AI can do instantly and perfectly. Why are we wasting years cramming information we can look up or generate in seconds?

The constant tests, rankings, tuition, and pressure for “perfect grades” are burning us out. Many kids I know feel anxious, depressed, or totally unmotivated because we know this game is becoming pointless. Yet a lot of parents keep defending the old system and judging us by report cards that measure skills AI already mastered.

What needs to change:

Stop obsessing over memorization and exam scores. Start supporting us to build real skills — creativity, critical thinking, building projects, using AI as a superpower, solving actual problems, and learning how to learn. We’re not asking for an easy life. We’re asking you to wake up and help us prepare for the future we’re actually going to live in, not the one you grew up in.

Parents, this might be uncomfortable to hear, but we need you to change with us. Be honest. Are you ready to rethink how you support us?
