Private / permissioned spaces (invite-only, role-gated)

Every space is visible to every member. A fund can't run founders, mentors, and LPs in one community — LP discussions can't sit next to #general. Same for startups: you can't have a customers space and an internal team space side by side.

Would be good to have Per-space visibility settings: public, members-only, invite-only, or role-gated (e.g. only "LP" or "mentor" roles can see it). Hidden spaces shouldn't appear in the sidebar for people without access.

Concrete need from our side: we want to run this exact community with an LP-only space for fund updates and a mentors space for office-hours coordination. Right now we'd have to spin up three separate communities, which kills the network effect.

Design suggestion: pair this with member roles/tags (founder, mentor, LP) so gating is by role, not by manually inviting people to each space. Roles unlock the whole Phase 2 roadmap — permissioned directories, matching, cohorts.

I can see where you guys are coming from but this is rather complicated to implement. Especially if we want roles as well. If someone could help me with the right design of this would be great
